If you're looking to get a good base of knowledge about performance testing in a practical way, this book will do it. You'll learn basics about tools, reporting, and methodology. You'll also learn about the various ways software handles processing tasks, and thus be able to point out the most likely points of failure for any given software application.However, this is a rough book. It has a lot of spelling errors, a lot of confusion between your/you're, and a lot of grammar errors. It feels like the book was written in a train of thought, and then never passed to an editor before publishing.
That said, I don't regret the purchase or time spent reading it, but if you can't get over spelling errors you might want to look elsewhere.

The book has some good parts, but the spelling, grammar and syntax in general are just terrible. Editing is poor to non-existent, and it makes this book feel very amateur, almost blog-like.
The book provides a thorough discussion of the subject that will help a newcomer to the process of developing and analyzing load tests.
